Let me start by saying that I like the idea of this type of blogging to draw attention to promising new altcoin projects. As a cryptocurrency investor myself, I recognize that it's important to keep learning and looking for new opportunities as they come along.

I haven't heard of Stratis before. You say you feel it could be the next Ethereum. What does it do that Ethereum can't do? Does it have some features that Ethereum's smart contracts don't support? Is being able to program the blockchain in C# better than programming in Ethereum's Solidity language which was custom built for the purpose? I ask these questions because there are a lot of so-called "Bitcoin 2.0" projects out there, and I want to see how a project is going to make itself stand out from all the competition and offer some unique benefit.

Convince me that Stratis has something unique to offer, and then I'll go read the whitepaper. ;-)

Ethereum is coded in proprietary programming languages that are basically remade versions of other languages. For example to program on the the Ethereum platform a developer would have to learn a new version of Java or Python that only works for Ethereum programming. With Stratis the developers that already know C# do not need time to learn a new language and the intricacies of developing for a platform they are unfamiliar with. It eliminates much of the risk and time required for a programmer with no knowledge of block chain technology and will allow new entrants into the crypto world. Other coins have C# apps that connect to their block chains and Dash just announced that they will be allowing apps to be built on the sub network that are coded in C#, but as far as a blind intro to crypto programming goes, I haven't found another concept that would make it this easy. The developers of this chain will also be offering consulting services and working with new developers to develop and test their visions if they need or want additional training and services. I see this as more of a new gateway for talent to enter and could lead to future developments that we haven't even conceptualized yet.

I´m not a programmer, but I thought that Solidity was open source, and I found it on Github:
https://github.com/ethereum/solidity/

Or are you referring to something else than Solidity?

Multiple languages were remade solidity is basically JAVA and Serpent is basically Python I can't remember the name of the C# variant. I think most non crypto devs view relearning a modified version of a language they already know for a platform that noone knows if it will exist in a few years is a waste of time. Consider how few crypto devs there are in comparison to a sea of open source devs that work on community projects and even private sector coders. Ease of entry should be the logical approach and not rebuilding a working tool.

Maybe you are right, this is over my head,as I´m not a programmer. I do think Vitalik Buterin is a genius though. That does not mean that he is always right, obviously.

I don't question his intelligence. I won't really get into all of my feelings on Ethereum as it's irrelevant to Stratis, I think they are different enough. I will point out a simple life fact though, Intelligence is not a sign of moral integrity or an indicator to whose interest a person has at heart. I used to be a greedy self oriented person once upon a time. I eventually realized just how badly the world needs to change and people have to evolve to bring us the next level. Basically, I suggest thinking critically for yourself and looking at the big picture and a person's past and present actions before deciding to put your faith into them. His being smart doesn't mean he will or won't be a game changer for crypto, and it sure as hell isn't an indicator as to who he intends to benefit. I just want everyone to have as much information as possible about as much of the crypto world as possible, which is why I made this post. :)

Good point, by providing an API in a programming language that most developers are already familiar with, it does lower the barrier to entry. However, I would argue that Solidity allows smart contract ideas to be expressed more naturally and probably in a simpler fashion as it's a specialized language built specifically for that purpose. I'm certainly no expert in blockchain development though, and competition is healthy from the point of view of advancing the underlying technology. Will be interesting to see what happens!

FYI: I have been watching the market on Bittrex and the bands are tightening up nicely. Big price movement is incoming shortly, whether up or down I won't speculate but I am sure the current support or resistance breaks very soon. 3600 Satoshi at the time of post.
