If there was no disease - Big Pharma is out of business - is it not in Big Pharmas investor, shareholder amnd employees 'best interests' to have as much disease as possible in the world today?
If Big Pharma is out of business - it has failed it's investors and shareholders - it has also being negligent in fulfilling its corporate responsibilities, and is therefore liable, and wide-open to law suits!
Isn't that a very interesting position to find yourself in?
Let's not be so quick to indiscriminately sweep (this elephant in the room) under the carpet and pretend that it doesn't exist - stop and think about it for at least a few minutes - isn't this a juxtaposition?

All Big Pharma drugs create side-effects > which doctors treat/manage by prescribing with another drug > which creates more side-effects > which are again treated/managed by prescribing with another drug > which creates more side-effects.
This creates a self-perpetuating paradigm, wherin Big Pharma revenues and profits directly correlate with more people getting sick is a problem - The sicker that people that are, and the more drugs that we can give them the more money Big Pharma makes - I hope that you are beginning to get the picture?

This makes sense. Easier to keep consistent profits if the goal is just to keep people on your products.
Exactly - the numbers don't lie. Much more money is spent on marketing than on research - it's not complicated.
The chart comparing marketing vs research funding per company is pretty good.
I'd add an extra dimension here, saying that some of these "marketing companies" may be offshore companies who are used to siphon out the profits without getting taxed.
