The Kill Corporation - Episode 3 of 8
Episode 3 of the Sci-Fi Satire The Kill Corporation.
Poor Plato Punchkiss has been demoted to the lowest levels of The Kill Corporation. He's now a peon deciding the fates of garbage men. There doesn't seem to be a way out, until an old friend comes to visit with an offer of violence and danger.
This episode was shot over the course of two years. That's the way it goes, sometimes. A little here, a little there, a new idea later on that you just have to try...it's the nature of the work. Always build re-shoot time into your schedules. It's the smartest lesson I've learned about production. Even if it's a day, put a little but of of the budget away. There will always be a mistake, missed shot, a scene that doesn't work or some late inspiration that just needs to be capitalized on. Having that rain check can save excellence from the jaws of mediocrity. Or, in my case, mediocrity from crap.

Thanks. Actually, some friends of mine criticize this show because they say "It's only five minutes into the future!" I'm afraid I tend to agree. Maybe not the killing, but the forced arbitration is very, very real. Any time you buy something these days, you are agreeing to suspend your right to sue in court. Look at the fine print on a receipt from Best Buy or Walmart...if your product tries to kill you and you want to complain, you have to go to an arbitor of their choice. Insanity.
I did not know that... I better be careful if "smart toys" come out... no "small soldiers" for me! ;)
