Ten Truths & One Lie Challenge

in #all7 years ago (edited)

This is my response to @simgirl nominating me for the Ten Truths and One Lie Challenge. The challenge is self-explanatory: you share ten truths and one lie. The Steemit community then guesses which "truth" is a lie. Initially I declined to respond, but after reading her list of ten truths and one lie, I felt threatened and afraid of @simgirl. She's not as innocent as I thought she was. For my own personal health and safety, here are my Ten Truths and One Lie.

Similar to @simgirl, the first person to correctly guess my one lie will be awarded 0.5 SBD.

Disclaimer: Most of the following events occurred when I was younger and it doesn't reflect my current lifestyle.

1

  1. During March Break of my high school freshman year, my friends and I broke into a boarded-up abandoned house. There were obvious signs of previous trespassers who left remnants of cocaine on the kitchen counter. Anyway, we took advantage of the empty space and proceeded to hotbox in one of the rooms. Hotboxing is smoking marijuana in an enclosed space with no ventilation. A flint from the blunt must have landed on something very dry, because the next thing we know, we're outside running in the opposite direction of a burning house.

  2. During my flight from Canada to South Korea, I smuggled two grams of marijuana undetected pass both the Canadian and American airport (there was a layover somewhere in the States). I was fortunate to bypass several close call situations, specifically the puffer machine (which was designed to detect drugs). It was hidden under the toes of my right foot, drenched in cologne. It's interesting to note that in South Korea, if you're caught with THC in your blood system, they'll lock you up for up to five years.

  3. During my early teen years, a group of friends and I was in a trivial pissing contest. The challenge was to bike down a steep rock and soil-covered garbage hill without braking and without a helmet. When it was my turn, I managed to get to the bottom of the hill at full speed without breaking, but before I could to stop, I found myself doing a front flip and flying head first into a pile of fist-sized rocks. My head landed in a tiny patch of sand between the rocks. At that speed, an inch in any direction would have been a serious injury. I won the contest.

  4. Also, around the same time as the previous incident, my uncle and his family (who I've never met before prior) was visiting my family. They were already at my home while I was out with my friends. Long story short, the first time they saw me was when I was at the front door with handcuffs beside a police officer.

  5. A friend and his girlfriend invited me to replace another guy for a potential threesome. The other guy I was replacing was their long term trusted drug dealer, however my friend's girlfriend began communicating with him unusually too often, so due to complicated trust issues, I was the next candidate. I declined.

  6. In my second year of university, I was living in a small townhouse with couple roommates. There was a shared room for the laptop/computers, a shared room where some slept, a basement full of instruments, and ONE washroom. I slept in the shared living room space. When I say "couple", what I meant was 9 big lazy guys with absolutely no housekeeping habits.

  7. A friend of mine had access to discounted tickets for "Canada's Premier Amusement Park", Canada's Wonderland, due to a special event occurring one specific day. As kids, we thought our experience would be elevated if we smoked marijuana before entering the amusement park for obvious reasons -- so we did. The name of the event that day was called "Police Appreciation Day" -- a day where police officers from Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area came to the amusement park with their families. The discounted tickets came with one hotdog and a bottle of water.

  8. When I was child, I observed a path filled with hundreds of banana slugs near a camping ground. As I was carefully walking through it, my sibling threw a large rock near by, causing a large portion of slug guts to land on my face. Previously, I was able to hold these slugs in my hand, but after that incident, I've never looked at it the same way ever again.

  9. When my friend and I ran a reptile breeding business at our shared apartment, we bred meal worms, cockroaches, and crickets -- feed for the reptiles -- to save cost. Unbeknownst to me, the cages were slightly damaged, which allowed the crickets to escape the cage, roam around, and hide in places that was difficult to reach. Crickets do this thing called chirping, where they produce a sharp distinctive sound. I endured every single day of one year, hearing them chirp 24/7, with occasional surprise visit on my bed while I slept. Now every time I hear crickets chirping in a movie (particularly in scenes symbolizing serenity), I get irrationally very irritated.

  10. After a night of heavy drinking, I had the urge to go to the Casino. So, I drove a group of friends to the closest Casino that was one hour driving distance. When we got there, I didn't gamble. Even though I was drunk, I knew gambling was bad idea.

  11. At the end of my high school freshman year, I uprooted three large marijuana plants from somebody's backyard as my "friends" were looking out. The next day when I was biking past that same house, there was a large group of people in-front. I later found out those plants belonged to a member of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club.

I guess I have to nominate five people now, so I nominate: @krazykrista, @playitforward, @macchiata, @warmcracklesound, and @possiblememes.

Here are the rules for this challenge:

Please tag me if you make a 10 Truths & A Lie post so I can come and read it and make a guess! You don't have to offer a prize or anything, I just really enjoy reading them and getting to know you all better! Use the "tenfactsonelie" tag so others can find you! ~ @byn

I'm going to guess #5. Not because it doesn't sound possible, but because they ALL sound possible and I'm going crazy with these challenges!!! :) I look forward to reading your "REVEAL" post!

I'm so glad you took the challenge!!! I am also glad that this list does not reflect your current lifestyle!!! lol. I have no idea which one is a lie. But I do know you much better now!!! Which is awesome!!! Although I was thinking many of them could be a lie, I am going to guess #2... it sounds very risky!!!

In hindsight, it was one of the most idiotic thing I've done. It was a boring time in my life and I was seeking for something thrilling.

None of these events are something I'm proud of. Except for the lie, because it never happened!

My guess would be #9 is the lie.

I'll probably Post ne of these tomorrow, but I'm writing a couple larger pieces at the moment and I don't want to get distracted. Mine is basically gonna be a lot like yours .... All drug smuggling and drug fuelled shenanigans. Hahaha
