Alright Guys and Gals. Steemit is exploding!
People make thousands of dollars and if you read this, I'll bet that you also want to be part of this great new community.

What is steemit?

Steemit is a social network that looks and functions very much like Reddit, but with one BIG difference:
Steemit pays content creators as their work increases, as well as people who curate the best content on the site by improving the work of others. This is possible because the Steemit platform is built on a new type of digital currency. (Think Bitcoin, which is another type of digital currency that has been around for a while.)
Everyday, a new currency unit is created by the network and distributed to its users, which can exchange these digital currency units with real real money. And it does not cost a penny to start.
You can create a Steemit user account for free, now, and publish your content directly to the site in minutes using the Steemit blog development tool. If you are skeptical at the moment, I understand. I also. But that's definitely the real deal. So let's dive in. I'll show you how it all works.

How does Steemit work?

In some ways, Steemit is similar to other digital currencies. For example, the Steemit currency unit can be traded, bought, and sold on the open market like all other digital currencies.
With other cryptools like Bitcoin, the actual currency units created every day are distributed to people who run special bitcoin software programs on their computers that perform a process called Bitcoin Mining. The amount of computing power you have determines the amount of money you earn.
Steemit allows the mining of currency as well, but not the main way to earn money. Everyday, a new Steemit currency unit created by the network and distributed to the people involved with this site.
The more you get involved, the more you get.People who make the content valued for their content. People whose upvote content is appreciated for helping to curate the best content available on the site. Comments that add to the discussion are also paid.

The 3 Steemit Currency Units:

The first thing you need to understand is that there are three types of units of the Steemit currency.
They are: Steem, Steem Power, and Steem Dollars.

Steem:

Steem is a unit that is bought and sold for real money on the open market. You can trade it like your share or company's shares.
But you do not want to hold on to this for too long because more Unit Steems are created every day. If you hold the Steem Units for a long time, they will become diluted and lose value.

Steem Power:

Having a Steem Power Unit is basically like making long term investments in currency because you can not sell Steem Power Units for 2 years. But there are many good reasons to have Steem Power.
By keeping your currency as a Steem Power Unit, you will be able to earn more money in the long run because you basically have ownership in the network. As the network grows, so does your piece of cake. And you will be greatly appreciated along the way.
Setting it now, 90% of the newly created Steem Currency is distributed daily to people who already hold Steem Power Units in the form of additional Steem Units. (The other 10% goes to creators and curators). Half of the salary you receive for your content will be in the Steem Power Unit.
In addition, the more Steam Power units you have, the more your voice of curation will be counted. You will have more influence on this site and you will also get paid more to improve the work of others. (As you increase one's work, they will be paid more as well.)

Steem Dollars:

Steem Dollars are the third and last form of the currency and never get diluted or lose its value. They are designed to be a currency
stable that you can sell at any time. When you create popular content, 50% of your salary will be in Steem Dollars. And you will be rewarded for holding Steem dollars as well. It's not as much as a prize for holding Steem Power. But because it still keeps the currency in the network, holding Steem Dollars pay 10% interest.

When you get Steem Dollars to create content, you have three choices:

  1. You can turn Steem Dollars into Steem and sell them immediately on the open market with real money, which basically monetize money.
  2. You can hold Steem Dollars, which save money on the network and pay you 10% interest. You can sell it anytime. If you think the value will go up and want to sell at some point in the near future, this is your best choice.
  3. You can swap your Steem Dollars for Steem Power. If you want to invest in the future of the currency and reap the greatest rewards, here's how to do it.

How does the newly created Steem be distributed daily?

Everyday 90% of the new Steem units are rewarded by those holding the Steem Power Unit. 10% of new Steem units are paid to creators, curators and commentators.
When you create content that actually makes money, 50% is paid to you in the Steem Unit Dollar which can be exchanged for real money immediately (or converted into Steem Power). The other 50% is paid at Steem Power. Steem Power Units are locked for 2 years.
