How to combine your local phonenumber + mobilphone number onto one simcard
In this new series I will show you how I work while travelling, which tools and gadgets I am using.
In the first episode I showed you how to get a free mailing address. Today I will show you a phone provider with interesting features.
There are dozens of VOIP providers but most of them do not offer combined offers for Mobilephone Simcard + Local Phonenumbers.
Sipgate the parent company of Simquadrat.de started as a VOIP provider, and than addet simquadrat.de (A simcard which combines your local phonenumber and your mobilephone number)
They offer an easy solution, you buy the basic monthly package for 4.95 Euro (Receive and make calls in the EU without paying any roaming charges + one free local phonenumber (you can take your existing number via MNP to them).
If you need Internet, you can add 1Gb-10GB packages starting at 9,95 Euro and if you travel a lot, you are able to add a EU Phoneflat to make calls to and within the EU for 19,95 Euro (Flatrate)
They have programmed an awesome interface you can see your calls in real-time, select where to forward calls to etc. (Basically how any phone provider should work)
If you are a freelancer or travel a lot usually you don't want to have a local phone-number. But many clients like local numbers, it is sometimes cheaper to call local numbers, or they are old-fashioned and don't like calling mobile phones.
In this case a phone-provider like simquadrat makes sense, you could have different local phone-numbers (UK, ES, CH, DE, IT, PL). Combine this with Virtual Office Providers and you will be able to make your business card look like this:
