The First Being ... STEEM/STEEMIT of Course!
Putting the current crypto-carnage aside, caused by the battle of ego-bloated Bitcoin maximalists ... we must admit that STEEM/STEEMIT is having some growing pains - it is a tough thing to sell, due to its ground-breaking nature and the inherent complexity of the STEEM economy, although the benefits to the average social media enthusiast are OBVIOUS! EOS, what can be looked upon as a more highly evolved version of STEEM, is also not so easy to explain - that is, to the average Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Reddit, etc. .. but thankfully, it is not really meant for them, it is meant for developers, the larger the better.
STEEM has developers, I am an aspiring one myself .. the work I am doing has since been stalled due to what I have learned of EOS. The problem with many of the projects that some STEEM-developers have wished to create, has been how to run code, even very basic code, off-chain, and still maintain the trust of the user, who would have to provide private keys, and if the movement of value is required, it would mean potentially using an intermediary step, passing through an exchange ... or any number of issues, due to a lack of execution, storage, etc. 'within' the STEEM eco-system ..
.. with EOS, we have all that we need!
What was that about a 2nd Life Again?
Well, our first life, which will run concurrently with out second, is spent trying to contribute to, promote, and benefit from STEEM / STEEMIT. Lately, again due to the Bitcoin "disturbance", it is a little hard to be maintain our morale. Some are quite excited by the dip in STEEM's price, as they correctly see it as a major buying opportunity ... possibly the last best opportunity to gather up STEEM Power.
Our second life, for those posting here on eostalk.io, will be to buy and promote EOS, and prepare for its arrival as best we can. Those who are excited by it, are very much so! We wish to be block producers, we wish to be app creators, we wish to buy as much EOS as we possibly can during the current ICO, and HODL it until the technology reaches its full potential ...and beyond!
Many STEEMIANS are involved in many crypto-related projects, some of them based on STEEM, some of them based on tokens created in the Ethereum-realm, or Bitshares .. all the power to everyone! But for myself, the only two projects that really count, in all the crypto-universe, are STEEM and EOS - and the reason for this is the mind of Dan Larimer - who in my mind, is the greatest blockchain-technology generator that has ever lived .. and yes, even more so than Mr. Nakamoto.
EOS + STEEM == A media platform, including intelligence, interactivity & persistence!
To fully benefit and contribute to both these great adventures, we will need all the time and energy we can muster .. x 2, running concurrently and in parallel. ;-)
EOS and STEEM, EOSIANS & STEEMITES ... people really need to ask themselves, beyond Bitcoin, what else exists that is of any real consequence?
