Are we being tricked?

The other day I was watching an old movie with Rowdy Roddy Piper called "They Live". If you grew up in the 80's and were into wrestling, you'll know who I'm speaking of. The premise was that there were subliminal messages incorporated everywhere, magazine, newspapers, billboards, etc., and the Earth was being run by aliens. Although I don't believe our world is being controlled or run by aliens, I do believe there are subliminal messages everywhere. We are told daily what true beauty is, what we should be eating among other things. In essence, I feel there's some truth to that movie and the person who wrote it was ahead of his time. Why don't you take a little time to think for yourself and not be influenced by what is cool, beautiful or acceptable. You were made perfect and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
