I just learned the origin of the "scarface" mob nickname.

Al Capone was smarting off at a pretty young lady who had just entered a club ... not realizing her brother, next to her, had a knife.

He used it, making three slashes on the left side of Capone's face.

From then on, Al kept an eye out for cameras and always tried to turn his face to hide the scars when anyone photographed him.
