I hate these titles...the steem Killer

Akasha is coming ladies and gentlemen.

This will be big and it will be fast and it will be epic.
I'm thinking the beginning of ETH and crypto mass adoption.

"What can I do with AKASHA?

You can publish, share and vote for entries, similar to Medium and other modern publishing platforms, with the difference that your content is actually published over a decentralized network rather than on our servers. Moreover, the votes are bundled with micro transactions so if your content is good you’ll generate value – in a way, mining with your mind."

They are not paying me.
I just believe a project not tainted by bad blood and already on an established blockchain will be the beginning of a real awakening.
Did I mention steem killer?

Sort:

Hi thanks for sharing this. how will post generate value exactly? when will the platform go live? If paid in ETH, does the platform have its own token? if so what is it used for?

From their blurb in my post, content generates value. And it does have its own token: AETH
The token is used to reward the authors and curators much like steem and can be convertes to ETH or fiat currency.

The rest: Straight from their FAQ:

"When is the launch?

The alpha version is already available for Linux, MacOS, and Windows and currently runs on a private Ethereum testnet. The main Ethereum network launch (AKASHA 1.0) is expected to happen around Q3/Q4 2017.

Will there be a token crowdsale?

In the first phase AETH will be a token placeholder used inside the AKASHA ecosystem. We chose to focus first on building a working decentralized application and learning from the actual use what sorts of problems we should be solving with a custom token. Depending on our findings we might do a crowdsale, but most likely not by the time we launch the beta."

great answer. I guess this makes me nervous in ICO's: "learning from the actual use what sorts of problems we should be solving with a custom token". they need to answer that question quite clearly before we should invest in it.

What will be the differences with Steemit?

A general lack of Dan Larimer from what I gather.
The entire ethereum user, coder base and funding behind it. Practically and motivationally.
Us lot proving proof of concept.
Direct conversion to ETH to and from AETH.
That's all for now, may come up with more as we go. :)

Hmm, interesting. Thanks for the info.

Potentially even integration with other DApps in the future. Such as UPort Melon etc. Honestly the sky is the limit.
Thanks for the reply, was my 1st.

Dan Larimer is always keen to stress the 3 second block times, and very fast transaction confirmations that I think he considers necessary for voting in the social media context. I think Ethereum can't do this, so they would have some off-chain logic which tries to emulate it? I wonder how well that works, as I don't have time to investigate just yet.
