AJJPS: ''The New Generation of Groundbreaking Artists may NOT hold Arts Degrees but Talent only !! Here's how Crypto Currencies might help them in unexpected ways!''

in #ajjps7 years ago (edited)

How do you get talent as an Artist? Do you acquire it from books? Or do you get it from schools, Universities... or clever stealing and inventive copying maybe?

More and more young and indoctrinated Fine Art Graduate wannabe's think that their Art will be recognized because they themselves are special and their persona will justify any kind of primitive, retarded 'Artwork' they may produce...

But a genuine Artist is interested in telling Stories first and foremost.

A celebrity status is secondary and less important (or not desired at all). A real Artist may choose to stay anonymous for the sake of inner Peace over public appreciation.

The celebrity self-love culture, visible in all Modern Art pretenders seemed to be winning in recent years as actual Artists were full of doubt over their Art.

I have a quote from Charles Bukowski that sums it up pretty darn well (in broader terms):

And yes, it is a broader issue we tend to realize. And this is how it is.

But here is my proposal: in order to see things clearly, we just have to step further away from the canvas and think about things in broader terms.

What was the reason the 'Artworks' below sold for the amount of money they have? Was it really the 'Artwork' itself?

Untitled (1970) by Cy Twombly – $69.6 Million  / Source: Caveman Circus

Onement Vi By Barnett Newman – $43.8 million   / Source: Caveman Circus

Blue Fool by Christopher Wool – $5 Million / Source: Caveman Circus

Was it the talent and vision of the Artists making it?

No, these three 'Artworks' (and countless others) were considered as an investment (due to rarity and the name of the Artist) by someone who wanted to keep their money somewhere other than a bank, in hopes of a bigger gain on re-sale than banks can ever offer in interest percentages.

So what does Crypto has to do with all of this? - Good question!!

Crypto makes it possible for investors to forget about speculating on Artwork values and worrying about a painting getting stolen. They can make huge gains with less effort and be totally anonymous in the process. Who doesn't want that?

Okay, but why and how is this good for the Artists who make more engaging Artwork?

Simple. The amount of buyers for the Artwork who view it only as an expensive, rare object will decrease.

Those who would continue to invest in Artwork will do it because they are passionate about Genuine Art.

They will have good taste, qualifications and an understanding of what to look for in an Artwork and will choose to purchase the most moving, clever and skillfully executed pieces.

The world is changing and people with genuine spark will benefit from it to enrich our culture again!
