There is something absolutely repugnant about the fashion among some members of a society, community or country who feel so important and regard themselves as indispensable.

Indispensability is a pastime of small minds, a preoccupation of negative people who believe that the world belongs only to them. Come to think about it, what will make a man think that without him the world would be extinct or not function?

We live in a world of interdependence where no one person, community or country can survive in total Independence without relating or trading with others. One might experience a good harvest period or particularly gifted in some aspects the other is not at that time does not mean that such a person can rely on his products or ability without sourcing for other things he has no ability.

Education is one of the weapons that can liberate people from the thralldom of poverty and ignorance but surprisingly, most educated people are found guilty. In order for them to be seen as indispensable, they refuse to inspire others coming behind thereby making them feel down and defeated psychologically. This is not good for the society and the system because invariably with or without us, the society continues to exist.

Indispensability is a vain ambition and doesn't mark success. Success is determined by the amount of inputs invested in developing people and making the society worth living. It is the only way one gets remembered by history because there is no end in nature for it is a regeneration of itself.

We must always strive in our relationship with others to be transparent and United with constancy of purpose for in it lies our strength. It should always be a team play where everybody is a winner. An indispensable man is only but a fiction because man's existence is replete with learning until death.

In conclusion, anytime you begin to feel so important thinking that your exist would create an unfillable vacuum, just conduct this simple test: take a bucket filled with water, deep your hands inside up to the wrist, then pull out. The hole that remains inside the water is the measure of how you would be missed.
