AIDS IS REAL, IT KILLS - AIR-CLINIC contest
Somewhere on the shores of Lagos,
Adora was weeping for the death of her friend. Stanley came in and saw her crying. Adora what's wrong, he asked in a concerned voice. He was a caring boyfriend. She replied, femilayo is dead. What!! He screamed, how did it happen? She told him how her friend had been sick for a long while. She had done a few tests amongst which were HIV test and she was diagnosed with AIDS. The next day, femilayo had been found dead in her apartment. She killed herself, Adora wailed.
Stanley was sad but he had to be the man. Don't worry, he told her. Stop crying, she's gone and we'll miss her. But life has to go on he said giving her a hug. Adora stopped crying after a while. That night they had sex as was the normal custom, without a condom. They felt their love was strong and their trust was mutual. It never occurred to them to check their status.
After 2years tragedy struck for Adora and Stanley. They were planning to get married and they finally decided to do the long put off "HIV" test. And this was only because it was requested of them. They never really saw the need. After all they were faithful to each other. They went to the nearest hospital and did the tests. When the results were supposed to be released, the doctor called them to his office.
He began to ask them general questions about their health which they replied. He asked if any of them had noticed any flu like symptoms to which they skeptically replied, that it's Nigeria and yes they had seen symptoms of malaria over the years. He finally broke the news to them that they were both HIV positive. Adora fainted immediately. Stanley was bewildered. How? Why? They left the hospital immediately and were never seen again.
They got married. A few months later, Adora fell very sick. She was taken to the hospital where she gave up the ghost. Two months later, Stanley followed her to the grave.

I'm actually HIV positive, but undetectable due to taking my medication. Luckily with a new diagnosis these days you can take 1 pill a day to be noncontagious. Unfortunately, that pill is around $3,000-4,000/month because there are greedy mofos out there who value money over public safety....
Anyhow, I kind of understand this story. I've done things since diagnosis I'd of never done HIV-. I mean as it stands I can still have another kid and all that if I ever meet the right woman. That's a whole other issue though. I cant even imagine having full blown AIDS. I can't say I wouldn't end myself too. Incurable is 1 thing, but terminal is death. You've seen "Breaking Bad". That's why they offer council when diagnosed. LoL smh
