AIR-CLINIC WRITING CONTEST 14: Emergency!Emergency!Emergency!
Whee-yoo! Whee-yoo! The sound of siren enveloped the atmosphere and I could vividly remember seeing a doctor fell twice while running and his white lab coat immediately turned black from stains,looking almost like a mechanic but in the act of saving life ,no one cares about the colour of dresses.
Am a medical student currently on an internship,I have seen many emergency cases but this one am about to write was the one that touched me the most
Back to the story : blood shattered all over the floor, 70 victims lying helplessly,only two Doctors attending to them and some nurses and I was the only one taking their bio-data ,that was the first time I saw doctors confused at everyone screaming and calling for help.some gave up due to long period of waiting .
Story told about the accident : from story, we were told the accident victims were on their way to attend a wedding ceremony and unfortunately for the groom ,the bride boarded that same car. It was a peaceful journey until they arrived at a town call "Tafa" in Niger state ,then their break failed and they crashed into another moving vehicle. The bride died at stat.
Back to the story : many of the victims were referred to specialist Gwagwalada due to the complication, female victims all laying naked in an unconscious state,women who couldn't help seeing how all the female victims lied with no clothes,burst into tears; At that time about 15 of the victims were dead and 32 referred ,I had to join the doctors in saving life,"that's what we do, that's what I took the "Hippocratic oath" for, life should be valued ,I immediately started ,all soaked in blood but I never cared,serving humanity is our call of duty.
At the end 18 patient survived,32 were referred ,20 Died
