"Lydia, fetch me my coat from the line outside". " Mum, you have to get that yourself I'm running late for a party" "What kind of party is that? I thought you were joining I and your father for the vigil? Lydia, are you clubbing?" "Mum, what else could a beautiful young woman like me be doing on a Friday night? Clubbing is the in-thing now" "Will you shut up your mouth and get in the car young woman?" barked her father who was tired of listening to the conversation between his wife and daughter; his only child.

Lydia just clocked 20 and had too many friends mostly from the upper class. Recently, her friend Monica introduced her to this cute guy, Fred. It was he who invited her to the club that night. As fate would have it, Lydia defied her fathers order for the upteenth time and headed for the club. Lydia had been seeing Fred in secret for about 2 months and she felt like she was in heaven though there were changes. Not changes in Fred but changes with her. She had been experiencing mood swings, cravings, pain in her joints. Apart from those, she missed her period the previous month and up till that moment, there was no sign of her visitor. But she wasn't so concerned...was she? Could she be...Pregnant? She had to see Fred tonight.

Few steps from the entrance of the club, she saw Fred and his father being handcuffed and put in a police vehicle. They were charged with fraud. What does she do? Who does she talk to? Where does she go? All these thoughts raced through her mind. She went to a nearby clinic and performed a pregnancy test which came out positive. She cried. What could she do? Go back to her father and tell him she's pregnant? It would tear his heart out. Oh! her poor mother. She had to get rid of it. This thought occurred to her so fast that it scared even her. She had to do something...
