Cough! Cough!! Cough!!! Tobi what’s wrong? I observe your body temperature has been higher than normal for the past few days, here you are again coughing like a he goat (in a funny manner). I will be fine friend, he replied with smile on his face. This is what you have been saying since last week, yet, there is no positive change since then, I think it is high time you left for our school clinic, afterward, your body temperature remains high since last week. Thank you very much friend, I will do as you say immediately after tomorrow’s class. He replied.
Emmanuel, can you please help me look for my health card? He asked looking very tired. I quickly look for it in his wardrobe and we set out for school clinic. I was opportune to follow him to where the doctor will attend to him for he looks very tired and the rate at which he coughs has been aggravated to the extent of coughing more than twice within a minute. Good afternoon sir, good afternoon friends. The doctor replied in a friendly manner. When did the cough start and what else are you feeling? He could hardly say chest pain before he starts coughing. I continue by telling the doctor his temperature has been high for the past few days. The doctor told me to wait outside while he took him in for test. After some hours, the doctor came out and said, you need to get this drugs for your friend in the pharmaceutical unit, he has been affected with tuberculosis. Moreover, he has to be isolated for a while until he is fine to avoid the spread of the disease. Is he your roommate? The doctor asked me. Yes he is. Please try as much as possible to come back for tuberculosis checkup after getting those drugs for your friend the doctor replied. I did as the doctor said the second day, although I was tested to be tuberculosis free. I am happy you have not contacted the disease, congratulation the doctor said.

if you find yourself close to a tuberculosis patient, maybe your family or friend, you have a very high probability of been contacted by the disease. please visit a hospital as fast as possible for test so that it can be dealt with as fast as possible if tested positive.
