DRUGS on it's own is meant to do good to the human health and well-being; but when ABUSE is added to it, it begins to do MORE harm and NO good.

I will define the term "Drug Abuse" as simply, "taking the right Drug for the Wrong reason". Every drug has a purpose, when such purpose is violated it "back-fires". Abused drugs include Methamphetamine, Anabolic steroids, Club drugs, Cocaine, Heroin, Inhalants, Marijuana and Prescription drugs.

In the society we live in today, the Wrong use of drug have become a norm among the Youth. They now go to the pharmacy to purchase drugs that one is not permitted to without a formal doctors consent.

This they do to make them, feel like gods among men, "forget" their sorrows, give them an uncommon boldness in some situation and/or to impress peers; among other reasons. Now the joy derived from this abuse is just for a moment. After a while it clears off and they crave for more and more; then it becomes an addition.

The long-term use of drug cause the part of the brain responsible for learning, judgment, decision-making, stress, memory and behavior to malfunction.

The rate of illnesses and injuries cause by Drug abuse increases by the day. Drug abuse play a top role in the major social problems in our society. It's leads to homelessness, crime, unemployment, etc. It harm unborn babies (for female addicts) and might let's to infertility, in general.

This abuse have ruined the life of people; musician, footballer and such likes. More of the insane people we see on our streets and hospitals are as a result of the Abuse of Drugs.

The Solution

While there's NO CURE, there are various types of treatment to drug abuse, but the BEST is PREVENTION at the first place. These treatment can help one stop using drugs and stay drug-free. They include Counseling, Medicine or both combined. Talking to a Doctor will help figure the best plan for a person.
