"Papa Junior" Rose called out as she walked into the room.

That room has been their abode ever since her husband went from grace to grass. It all happened so quickly that nobody could explain how it really happened.

First, he was suspended indefinitely from his place of work. The indefinite suspension which lasted over 3 months finally turned to outright termination of his career in the company.

As if that wasn't enough, the insurance company that had virtually all their life savings, folded and evaporated into thin air!

Since her husband was no longer a staff of the company, they had to vacate the company house and hand over the official vehicle they've been using. Hence they moved from a posh 3 bedroom apartment in an exquisite estate, to a one bedroom. Since then, they've been living from hand to mouth.

"Papa Junior" she said again.
"Guess what? My friend gave me some fresh tomatoes for free! At least we'll have a near decent meal once again"

Her husband stared at the not-so-fresh tomatoes. He wouldn't permit her to use such tomatoes on a normal day, but at this juncture, anything goes. His last proper meal was about 3 days ago.

Their only only son, Junior was lying on a mat spread on the floor. The once plump Junior who was formerly full of life, was looking like a skeleton, eating barely once in 48 hours.

Rose walked into the kitchen to drop the tomatoes but her husband's shout of "Junior! Junior!" had her rushing back into the room. By the time she got there, he had already lifted junior onto his shoulders and was racing for the nearest hospital.

===================================

"Your son has severe hypoglycemia" the doctor told them.
"It can result from a child not eating for 4 - to 6 hours.

We'll do all we can to help him, but it's all in God's hands"

"Oh God please" Rose muttered with tears in her eyes.

The doctor left the miserable looking couple as he went about other clinic matters...
