It is a pity and heartbroken that Desmond died of HIV/AIDS out of carelessness.

On the 23rd of February 2016 is a day in my life that I can never forget. This is the day I lost my friend Desmond as a result of an act of carelessness of one health practitioner in my suburb.

Early 2015, Desmond was sick but due to financial constraint, proper attention were not given to him as at when due.When the condition has become critical,they source for money and he was taken to the nearby clinic where he was admitted and the only option was that he needed blood transfusion.

They could not afford to buy but there was a man in that area who is a general donor, and they suggested the man so that he can donate blood to Desmond little did they know that they just want to sign for Desmond's death by taken such step.The man was well known by the doctor there and without hesitation, they took blood from the man and the blood was not properly screened to know maybe is contaminated but since the donor has become regular customer. The blood was taken and transfused into Desmond.

Desmond health started to improve and he was later discharged.

Not quit long after he was discharged,we observed that he started to develop some other funny symptoms like coughing and chronic fever,he was treated of typhoid fever and even TB but the problem still persist. All effort to make him healthy proof abortive.It was late before someone suggested that they should conduct HIV test on him,the test was carried out and he tested positive.
We try all our best to bring him back but the virus has eaten deep into his system already. We further discovered that he contacted the virus through the unscreened blood that was given to him.
