What I Think About Abortion - "AIR-CLINIC"

My view on this sensitive issue (abortion) is that the central test for deciding whether an abortion should be allowed in a case of pregnancy is, when can the rights of the foetus override the rights of the mother?

When answering that question I first think we need to look at the rights in question. In a case when we see that we are dealing with the right to a future life(future bodily anatomy) and the mother's bodily anatomy. Clearly, it can be seen as a case of two conflicting rights on the same thing. Next, we have to see when would the being (unborn) gain rights that could outweigh that of an already existing being.

On a personal level, I think pro choice, and this is because;

• Women have the right to choose what they do with their body, which should not be conflicting.

• At the legal abortion period (which I suppose should be a thing in places where it is legal), a foetus is a cluster of cells with no emotional or knowledge of its existence.

• If a baby is born into a family with no means to care for the child, it may be put into care homes or just left to roam the streets and fend for itself in the future and be at a higher risk of mental health issues and abuse.

• What if the baby is conceived through rape? We would not be expecting a mother to properly raise a child who, whenever she looks at them, is reminded of the time when she was abused and forced to give in without her consent, and then again when forced to have an unloved child.

• Also, in some countries, where abortion is completely illegal, there are women who have to carry a dead foetus around for years after pregnancy complications. Yeah, and it is as deadly as it sounds.

So, these are some of my reasons why abortion is a choice, and should always be a choice.
