AIR-CLINIC (AIDS IS REAL; IT KILLS)

Maya Andrews left her office at ten-thirty on a Tuesday morning in June for her eleven o' clock appointment at the "HOPE FOR ALL FERTILITY CLINIC" with her doctor, Doctor Stanley Perlman. She hurried out of the building at Genesis Plaza, steeped off the curb, and hailed a cab. Her wedding was in six months and David and her had decided to get a medical check-up because they had recently stopped having protected sex. It had been a mutual decision, David had agreed to meet her at the clinic so they could go through a series of tests together. Maya stopped a cab, gave him the clinic's address.
David smiled as he saw Maya highlight from the cab, she had a brilliant smile on. "Good morning " he said as she hugged him lightly and placed a kiss on his cheek and they walked into the clinic hand-in-hand. They met Doctor perlman in his office and he had a little prep talk with them before they were led into a consultation room and had their blood drawn for a series of tests. They only had to wait a few minutes for the results.
Minutes later David was called in first and he returned after sometime with two white sheets and a look on his face. "baby..... you've got HIV" he said looking at her dead in the eye. Maya burst out laughing and expected him to also but he kept on the serious look. "we've both got it " he said again this time taking her in his arms.
"It's a retrovirus that over-time leads to the ACQUIRED IMMUNODEFICIENCY SYNDROME . A condition in humans in which progressive failure of the immune system allows life threatening opportunistic infections and cancers to thrive." Doctor Fisher said three months later as Maya and David sat at the HIV seminar they had been asked to attend after consultation with a specialist. The program would boost their morale.
They had been placed on anti-retro viral drugs an got married as planned before Maya succumbed to pneumonia two years later.
