Self medication is a human behaviour in which an individual uses a substance to administer treatment to him or herself for physical or psychological illness at home without any prescription from the doctor or pharmacist.
WHY DO PEOPLE SELF MEDICATE.
Most people self medicate because of depression, anxiety or lack of funds to visit the hospital or a specialist. Most people feel going to a hospital is so expensive when they can just go their backyard, cut some leaves and stem, cook and drink and all will be well. That is not and will never be the best way of treatment.
DANGERS OF SELF MEDICATION
Self medication has great danger in the health which most people never think of, you have a slight headache and you conclude it's malaria not knowing it is a symptom of something greater. One example, a person having just a flu and taking atibiotics that rested in the kitchen from past doctor indications. That's the reason countries are starting to be more careful with this and practioners are just prescribing the amount needed.
