The cause of her death was medical, not spiritual.

Sonia was a devout christian who believed strongly that for all who believe in God and work in His ways, no evil or sickness shall before them. She saw sickness, poverty, hardship, death, etc., as punishment from God to sinners.

Here favourite passage in the bible was John 8:51 which says:
I tell you the truth, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death.

She was a fanatic who took every word of the scriptures hook line and sinker. Sonia would spend hours in the church praying or attending one church meeting or the other.

Few weeks before her birthday, she started feeling unusual. In the evening of each day, her body temperature would rise, with cold, headache and weakness of the body. This continued for one whole week and she never borderd going to the hospital.

She spent time praying to God to heal her. Her parents did everything possibe to convince her to go to the hospital or atleast, take some drugs but she refused, insisting that God would not abandon her. She believed that everything happens for a reason.

Her situation became severe and unbearable. Left with no other option, her parents rushed her to the hospital immediately. Unfortunately, it was too late for her to be saved. Sonia died and the tests carried out on her should that she died of chronic malaria.

This is a wake up call for us to always go to the hospital for check-ups and treatment whenever we are sick or feel unusual.

Sickness is natural, not evil. Let us avoid going to wrong places for treatment and every drugs we take should be prescribed by a medical personnel.
