ENDOMETRIOSIS
ENDOMETRIOSIS
Studies do not specify their etiology, therefore the diagnosis and the therapeutic options will depend on each patient.
When the endometrium, which is outside the uterus, develops incorrectly, it can be anywhere in the abdomen, which causes small plaques), nodules and endometriomas or ovarian cysts.
The process of evolution of endometriosis is unpredictable, while some women have small implants that do not change, others can develop implants extensively inside the pelvis. This inflammatory disease causes adhesions between organs.
How is it produced?
Endometriosis occurs when cells lining the uterus (womb) grow in other areas of the body, causing pain, bleeding between periods, heavy bleeding and in many cases infertility.
What causes it?
Scholars have not agreed on what causes endometriosis, however, some believe that the immune system in women plays a role in the cause of the development of this condition. Endometriosis is very common, it can be hereditary and probably begins when a woman begins to have periods.
Endometriosis occurs when these cells grow outside of the uterus in other parts of your body. This scar tissue can adhere to: ovaries, bladder, intestines, rectum, lining of the pelvic area; In addition, this tissue can grow in other areas of the body.

Symptom
The symptoms of endometriosis can be varied and who has it can have:
• Colic before the period and during, can be very strong.
• The periods are painful.
• Lumbago or pelvic pain.
• Usually, there is abdominal pain.
• There may be pain with bowel movements.
• There may be a lot of pain during or after sex.
Rarely there is no symptom, due to the accumulation of tissue in the pelvis, in these cases there is already an extensive lining of endometriosis tissue.
What treatment are there?
Being an inflammatory disease, treatment is a challenge, since the symptoms and signs often do not agree with the degree of the disease, so the patient must perform a number of studies that allow the specialist to review the case of each patient and send him the appropriate treatment.
The most common treatment drugs are analgesics; exercise and relaxation techniques; hormone therapy such as birth control pills, pills or injections of progesterone, gonadotropin agonist medications; surgery: laparoscopy, laparotomy and hysterectomy.
Each treatment will depend on the degree and extent of endometrial tissue in the patient. Regular medical examinations must be done quarterly or annually in order to evaluate the progression of the disease and the prevention of sequelae.

Tests and exams to be applied
The tests are fundamental for the prevention, care and treatment of the disease. Therefore, a physical examination must be performed, which includes examining the pelvis using an ultrasound. In addition, the specialist can send studies such as: transvaginal ultrasound, pelvic laparoscopy, and others.
Complications of endometriosis
Having this disease can lead to conception, so it is recommended that women undergo a laparoscopic procedure to remove tumors and scar tissue to increase the chances of pregnancy.
Endometriosis can bring other complications such as:
• Prolonged pain in the pelvis that often interferes with daily activities.
• Curses

Nice article on endometriosis. I have a question. Is there any relation between the chocolate cysts in ovary and endometriosis?
Greetings. Thanks for the support. Indeed, chocolate cysts are associated with endometriosis. It is scar tissue that causes the formation of these.
Recently my wife underwent laparoscopy. Chocolate cyst was found in the Overy. She was having dysmenorrhoea as well as polymenorrhoea. But no clear cut endometriosis i.e. endometrial deposits in elsewhere

Hi. Remember that these are scar tissue and if there have been abubdantes periods with discomfort, could have formed a layer of tissue and as you said do not rule out a possible endometriosis.
