#AIR-CLINIC WRITING CONTEST 27: "...That Was How I Got Pregnant"
Judith , 27-year-old beautiful girl had a ‘perfect life ‘, she had the perfect boyfriend for 5 years, a dream job and a perfect circle of friends. Life couldn’t be better. Judith is an introverted melancholic with principled life morals. Her friends usually referred to her as ‘uptight’.
Life vagaries caught up with Judith when she stumbled upon her supposed ‘perfect boyfriends’ wedding IV. She couldn’t bear it, she was heartbroken, Judith withdrew from friends and remained incommunicado for 2 months. Monica, Judith’s childhood friend had tried to talk her out of this mood for the past 2 months, finally, she seemed to have a headway.
Judith seemed different this Friday, she agreed to hang out with Monica (after all it was her birthday and she deserved to have some fun). Monica took Judith to a surprise party where all her friends (and friends of friends) were gathered. As usual, Judith was uptight, so her friends encouraged her to loosen up and have fun since it was her birthday. ‘What is the worst thing that can happen Monica asked’?
Judith gave in and decided to take a glass of wine; one glass turned two, two turned more... Judith woke up the next day in a different apartment. She looked around and found a strange naked man lying close to her. She looked under the sheets, her clothes were gone! Judith was in shock took a walk of shame back to her apartment.
She couldn’t remember what transpired the previous night and her friends were not helpful. Judith decided to take an emergency contraception later that day and moved on with her broken pieces.
A few weeks later, Judith started experiencing easy fatigue, nausea and she sometimes vomited in the early hours of the day, she went to the nearest pharmacy to buy some meds but the symptoms persisted. Still Feeling sick, She decided to go to a hospital for a proper check-up. A few hours later, her lab results came in and dr rose confirmed to Judith that she was 5 weeks pregnant.
