Hi guys,

So today's post is going to be about "Planking" @Jaynie 😎. What it is, how is it performed ( standard version ) , what are it's benefits and how many times should you be doing it in a week.

What's Planking?

The plank/planking is an exercise that involves the usage of core muscles ( i.e. the transverse abdominus, rectus abdominus, erector spinea, etc ) and it helps maintain strength and balance within the body by strengthening these muscles and improving your posture at the same time. This exercise has such a name because when you perform it, it looks like a wooden plank( well atleast the standard version does look like that from my perspective atleast. Lol).

The plank is performed/done for about 30 seconds-1 minute for beginners and 4-5 for advanced people/peeps. It's performed by keeping your entire body in a straight line along with keeping your glutes and tummy tight i.e. pulled in and the weight of your entire body resting on your forearms, elbows and toes. It goes something like this.

Lol. Just kidding.

This is what you want to be aiming for:

Benefits of planking:-

1). It strengths the core muscles i.e. the transverse abdominus, rectus abdominus, erector spinea, etc which is the reas

2). It helps strength your back because of the way it's performed.

3). You can improve your body posture with this Exercise as well.

4). If you want to become a professional athelete then having strong core muscles is absolutely imperative of you want to perform well because without strong core muscles you won't be able to handle your body properly and then all those hours spent practicing may get wasted. Ouch. Something to be avoided if you want to become a successful sports person.

Now for the most awaited question in history 😂.

How many times should you be performing this exercise/week as a part of your training regimen?

I'd recommend you try to do this every single day of the week if possible because of the benefits this exercise has to offer. But if that isn't possible then 3-4 days max. / week or 2-3days min./week is what you should aim for that's if you want some results out of it. Otherwise, you could do for a day and forget it or not practice it at all like him.

Your choice. I can't force you to exercise/train because that's your responsibility.

However, for those people that do end up doing it every single day of the week. Here's a video that shows you some variations you can try out.

.

Alright, that about wraps up this post on Planking. Please upvote, comment and re-steem etc if this was of any use to you. Otherwise, throw it in the garbage bin here.

Thanks for the generosity. Much appreciated.

I've actually used an app on my phone that set alerts for "time to plank". I've been using it for a while since my lower back and shoulders can't stand much stress.

Awesome idea sir. Be consistent with that. Have a nice day.

Awesome wonders @amarbir. I may have to 'plank' or "prank" you soon though...choose one!
