POVERTY
People find it uneasy to live with diseases but we have some who considers living in poverty a normal phenomenon. They are ready to accept whatever world they find their selves.

Poverty of the mind: This form of poverty is the most dangerous and deadliest. It has the power to infect all areas of the persons life; it can affect success and even prosperity of individuals. If you can cure the poverty of the mind, poverty of the body will be so easy to cure.

Poverty of the body: It takes a conscious effort to cure the poverty of the body. Poverty is not just income deprivation but capability deprivation and optimism deprivation as well.

Let me tell a story;

Mr Ade used to be a government top civil servant and he was so dedicated to his job. His contract was terminated when he was accused of failing duties. The truth of the matter is that, he wasn't compliant with his boss to loot or embezzle the fund at their disposal. Before he was relieved of his job, Mr Ade had many friends that come over to merry with him, eat at his apartment, some even come for assistance and he was always of help.

He was pretty confident that his friends would be there to help him. He went to their respective homes as they no longer visit him. On getting there, he met with disappointment and they made it clear to him that they don't associate with people that are poverty stricken, he therefore returned home. It got to a point that they could no longer afford the rent, they could barely boast of one course meal a day and then they moved back to Mr Ade's family home in the village which is a mud house with thatched roofs.

On getting to the village, he started farming with his wife and daughter. With dedication and hardwork, they started having good yield even though it wasn't almost immediately that they went back to being rich, it took them years but at least they overcome and instantly poverty left.

In Mr Ade's opinion, he wants to start small and from there begin to nurture those fancy dreams of his till it eventually became his reality. He had the right mindset and it went a long way in helping him.

Lesson of the day: Don't be stagnant, adjust with changing time, have the right mindset, poverty is by choice, it is the only disease in which the cure lies in our hand only to be applied ourselves, some may chose not to activate the cure. Hence, they remain poor.

Quotable Quote: It isn't your fault if you are born poor but it is however your fault if you die poor......
