Amazingly Scary Artificially Intelligent Robotic Creations
We are starting to see more Intelligent Robots being created, put to use and even hired for jobs nowadays. Artificial intelligence programs like Ross, the AI lawyer, AI chatbots like Cleverbot, or decision support systems are one thing, but we are starting to see a trend of robots directly learning from humans and able to interact with us in ways we wouldn't have expected.
13 Foot Robot that Learns
At first glance this looks merely as an exo-skeleton suit similar to those in video games or movies like Avatar, which is controlled by a human inside of it. While impressive and somewhat scary in it's own right (allowing humans to handle much larger work load, yet also a potential weapon,) this one learns from what the human inside does over time. This giant robot in South Korea actually learns from actions performed by a human 'driver' and reproduce the behavior on its own afterwards.
Sex Robots with a Pulse?
We all know that sex sells, but this really takes that to a whole new level. It really reminds me of the Futurama Episode called "I Dated a Robot" where Fry dates a Lucy Liu robot.
It's being reported that Abyss Creations who runs Realdoll.com is now offering "to build the human replicas and maybe even have them sound like the person." Supposedly these realistic robots will also have a pulse, warm skin and even mimic a specific dimensions and personality traits. Customers can choose to have their custom creations reflect either a person they know or a celebrity.

Betty: The New Office Manager in Training
We have already seen virtual employees such as Amelia be hired by companies as a welcoming face and receptionist for visitors. While she was able to interact using natural language and be emotionally engaged with humans, she was still limited to computer screens.

Betty is the the first Robotic employee who was hired on for a two month trial at Milton Keynes Co in the UK. This allows her to autonomously roam the office to perform a while new set of tasks. Beyond greeting guests at the reception area she will also be tasked with patrolling the offices, assessing how many staff members are in the office outside working hours, monitoring the environment by collating data on clutter, office temperature, humidity and noise, as well as checking fire doors are closed and desks are clear.

Betty looks like a gumball machine on wheels
Very true. She kinda reminds me of one of the robots from Mystery Science Theater 3000.
I suspect part of the motivation to make her look that way is to make her less scary to other employees.

As for the content of the arcticle you've written: the convergence of AI, and robotics is fascinating! As the man at the end of the last video said, we haven't seen anything yet!
