The Future of Photography

With artificial intelligence becoming more and more prevalent, it begs the question: what is the future of photography?

Using programs such as Luminar 3, has made it very easy to edit pictures with one simple step. All the editing is taken care of for you instantly, with minor adjustments you can easily get great pictures with minimal effort. We now have technologies such as the Arsenal as well which is an AI that will automatically take photos for you. Of course it is still primitive, but it is the beginning of something great. Soon I believe that AI will soon become embedded into the cameras themselves, allowing for things such as HDR, and focusing to become an easy task. How much will humans have to put into photos in the future? Of course we still need the human eye to figure out what subject we want to take a picture of but that might be the only thing we need to do in the future.

Should we still be editing photos by our own hand? Or should we let computers do all the work for us? As photography can be seen as artistic, I personally feel while AI can certainly help us, we should still put our own thoughts into the images and adjust them as we please. If we let computers do all the work for us, it will ruin the artistic side of photography. We should try to keep our own choices present in the photo as they give them the touch of the individual that took that photograph.

Very interesting thoughts, @nullscope. I've not put much thought into the automation of photography, but you're right that it is becoming simple to the point that common folk with little to no knowledge of photography can take fantastic photographs. I think that the two arts are now at a point where they are separate crafts. Digital and analog. I think that both have their own benefits and can be appreciated uniquely.
