If you’re new to cryptocurrencies and you’re confused by all the noise, hysteria and conflicting information here are some pointers for you. To get cryptocurrency and why it’s probably the most important enlightenment technology since the printing press you need to do a little of your own research and put the pieces together yourself, if you still don’t get it then repeat and try again.
So, first point, governments and banks counterfeit money, if that sounds absurd then study then research and understand the following subjects:
Fiat money
Fractional reserve banking
Debasement and its modern day relevance
And then tell me how what governments are doing is not counterfeiting.
Second point, governments are supposed to provide you with services, but, unlike any other service provider on the planet they can demand payment with violence, like the mafia, with little recourse for the customer (“citizen”) if the service is not provided or even unwanted in the first place.
Third point, governments can only tax so much before the people revolt and things get nasty, so, what they did was form an axis of evil with the banking system, this way they can levy a vast stealth tax by allowing the banks to print money that they can just borrow back at interest.
None of this was/is a conspiracy in my mind, it’s just the aggressive rent seekers (look up the economics term rent seeking) gaining the upper hand by corralling the weak minded to do their bidding for them.
All this encourages consumerism, consumption, waste, environmental degradation, so on and so fourth because it undermines a very important reality in a highly cynical manner.
That reality is this - there is only one way to create real wealth and that is to use your acquired knowledge and work/effort to create a product or offer a service that other people need. All the government actually needs to do is protect property rights and provide security, humans can work out the rest.
The simple truth is those who control the money supply control everything, cryptocurrencies are vaseline to the hands and lead weights to the body of government-banking axis of evil that currently has us all by the throats. If the people control the money supply the people have control.
