**African Mentality**

This piece is dedicated to all charming ladies that have been africanally mentalised
Ever since, it has been a pride for a man to ask a desired woman out, starting from the very first generation, it is no longer news, but the reverse is the case when a beautiful damsel sights what strikes not only her eyes but also her heart. She becomes emotionally dumb in spite of her physical audible voice, she starts hiding the feelings, killing her emotions due to the so-called culture of Africa which culturally proclaims and labels woman doing such as a LEWD. What a segregated culture!!!?
Religiously, none of the scriptural books denies its adherents from choosing a right and desired partner when it comes to marriage scene and there is nothing like a segregation or marginalization in the aspect of choosing a life partner. Let us examine Islam as a case study.
Back to the primitive age of Islam (in Mecca), the very first and loved wife of the noble Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) named Khodijah bint Khuwaelid (R.A) asked the prophet’s hand in marriage due to the incomparable attitudes and behavior she discerned from the prophet. Had it been a taboo, the prophet would have rejected the offer.
Constitutionally, most of the African constitutions are akin by nature due to the colonialism, except a slight difference in the Francophone and Anglophone ideology. The constitutions give room for FUNDAMENTAL HUMAN RIGHTS to be exercised by everyone in the polity irrespective of your gender. As the giant of Africa, Nigerian constitution would be used as a case study; Section (42) sub section (2) says “No citizen of Nigeria shall be subjected to any disability or deprivation merely by reason of circumstances of his birth”.
Be that as it may, the automatic restriction of women from freedom of choosing the heart desire is therefore considered unconstitutional. Many a woman out there is subjected to everlasting and evergreen marital problems simply because they were chose by the available ones when they could not ask the preferable ones out themselves.
Conclusively, African cultures are simply the best because it is quite efficacious and unique but the so-called culture which restricts the exercise of emotional rights from one gender should be culturally amended.

N.B for the women, marriage is a life contract and remember that forever is too long for you to remain sad. Summon the courage and ask him out, if he mocks you for doing such, it means he is mentally immature so he does not fit to stay with in marriage.
