FOLD ANALYSIS
From my previous post i explained, the type of fold present on this outcrop, which I mentioned.
- Anticline fold
- Syncline fold
According to the picture, my people are tying to analyse the anticline fold.
The anticline fold is the type of fold with an arch-like shape, which have the oldest bed at the core of the fold.
The lady direction indicates the Anticline while the other part of the outcrop indicates the syncline
I can't really remember some of these stuffs from the basic geography. God job.
Hey man are you a geologist?
This is really nice but you need to explain more. Let me drop a little something to it.
Anticline and Syncline fold can also be called Antiform and Synform.
Antiform - the fold limbs dips away from the center of the fold.
Synform - the limbss dips towards the center of the fold.
In an anticline the bed youngs away from the core, meaning its the oldest strata exposed in the core, while Syncline the bed young towaeds the core(youngest strata exposed in the core).
