My Africa; A Home of Diverse Culture(part 1)

Africa is known to be the World's second largest and second-most populous continent.Africa has a total land area of about 30.3 million km^2 covering about 6% of Earth's tootal surface area and 20.4% of it's total land area with 1.2 billion people,it accounts for about 16% of the World's human population.
Africa has about 3000 distinct ethnic groups with over 2000 languages. As a result of this diverse population, Africa has lots of different cultures and ethnicity.
In this post i will be writing o a few ethnic groups in Nigeria showing the beauty of there culture and heritage
Ethnicity in Nigeria

Nigeria , a West African country on the Gulf of Guinea has over 250 ethnic tribes and around 527 languages of which seven are extinct .The largest ethnic groups in Nigeria are The Hausa and The Fulani in the North, The Igbos in the Southeast, and the Yorubas predominates the Southwest.
Yoruba
The Yoruba or The Yoruba people of Nigeria makes up 21% of the country's population with about 40 million people in total. The majority of the Yoruba people are native speaker of the Yoruba Language . The Yoruba people are a very proud group ethnic group showing a great pride for their attire whch are made from traditional cotton.Yoruba attires includes;
- Aso oke
- Adire
- Buba
- Esiki
- Sapara and lots more.
Yoruba people has various locally made food like;
- Amala(made from processed yam and plantain)
- Eba (made from processed cassava)
- Iyan (pounded yam)
- Akara(made from beans)
- Moin Moin(also made from beans)
Igbo
The population of Igbo people is about 34 million making them one of the most populous ethnic group in Africa.The majority of Igbo people ar native speaker of the Igbo Lnaguage which is divided into numerous regional dialects .The major occupation of Igbo in rural Nigeria are Farming, Trading, and Craftmanship.
The igbo people are lovers of music with there own style of music to which various percussion instruments like The Udu, Ekwe and The Ogene are played .Other instruments includes Igba , Ichaka, and Opi.
