NEW RAINS of winter in Africa

The poem above was one of my collections in my secondary school days. I will now explained every meaning of the lines and figures of speeches used

line 1 Dusty odour filled the air.

This line is actually explaining or trying to portray the smell of the air when a new rain drops on the soil of Africa. The feelings it brings. When water mixed with mud, it has it unique smells.

line 2 Days of Childhood it reminds me.
line 3 When clays was our friend.

These line try to bring to mind the writers childhood days when he use to play on muds when such rains fell; How merry he would have been if it was his childhood days.

line 4 Every being wants you at first.
This line is talking about all creatures on earth; yearning for rain after the sunny days leaving everything dehydrated.

line 5 "We've waited for so long!"
line 6 Echoes fills the air with that.
These lines actually is portraying the feelings every being has. Their enthusiasm when the first rain finally fell on the soil of Africa.
line 7 Even the green fields all waits
line 8 Waving their colourful petals for your arrival
line 9 Saying, "We have adapted and waited in the summer; don't ever leave"
line 10 The virgin rains of new winters.
These lines talks on the plant who earnestly also wait for the new rain in order to flourish.
