Become A Leader Right From Your Home - A Must-Read For Every Nigerian Youth

in #africa7 years ago (edited)

I hope you are having a great day fellow steemians.

Thank you for sticking around my blog for a little above two moons now for which I've been on planet steemit.

I celebrated 500 followership a few days ago. Thank you all for making this happen.

Everyone of us wants to be powerful, happy, successful and famous. We want to be recognised. We want to be in the forefront of where things are "happening". We like to be adjudged by everyone as "great leaders".

When I was a child, I was told "children are the leaders of tomorrow".

I'm older today (though not as old as you think..... Lol) and after a few decades actually, the same leaders that have been in the forefront of our political scene are still in position today.

This makes me want to ask some questions.

When will my tomorrow come?

When will I lead?

When will our youths actually have opportunity to lead when our elders are not willing to retire even though it seems to me that they are tired?

How long must we wait before it's our turn?

Do we have to grow old before we can lead?

Now, someone reading this may be too quick to blame our fathers for this situation I just described.

BUT WAIT! .....

Let's Examine Ourselves

⏩ Instead of we youths developing our talents, potentials and skills in getting set to take up leadership roles, you see us roaming the streets idly and sometimes with negative intentions.

⏩ Instead of reading books and learning new skills such as leadership, entrepreneurship, management, craft, etc and thinking of ways to improve life generally; we make entertainment our sole priority.

⏩ Instead of taking a stand against tribalism, corruption and injustice and strive towards making the nation a better place, we give ourselves as political thugs in exchange for just a few peanuts.

⏩ Instead of employing creativity and innovation in surpassing the achievements laid down by our forefathers we rather indulge in all forms of social vices that degrade our human status and erode our mental capacity.

Please hear me fellow Nigerian youths and African youths by extension.

Why waste our lives when we can effect the change we desire?

Why trail on paths we wouldn't want for our children to follow?

Why lead a life we'll no longer be proud of in the nearest tomorrow?

When all is said and done, would we have left the world better than we met it or would our existence have been rather inconsequential?

What positives would we be known or remember for?

How many would testify of our impacts?

Will our statue be erected at the centre of communities or will our existence be erased from humanity?

When will our future come?

When will our change come?

When would we rise up and take up the task to leave the world a much better place than we met it?

Now is the time to rise up.

NOW! NOW!! NOW!!!
Is the time to rise.

Rise up and take your stand.

Tomorrow is Now!
Our future is Now!
Rise up youths
Rise up now.

True Leadership Is Not in Positions and Titles

I recognise that there are certain positions that offer leadership opportunities but true leadership is not based on positions.

I know there are titles largely seen by our today society as fostered by leadership.

But hey, true leadership is not in titles.

There are no entitlements in titles.

True leadership is based on impact and influence. It talks about doing the job not occupying the position.

You are a true leader in this great country not because you occupy a position or because you have a title but because you are highly impactful and influential through your assignment.

Steemit: opportunity for global leadership

In steemit, every African youth has the opportunity to become a global leader not just leaders in our various countries.

Steemit is huge platform for self development of various skills needed to excel as a leader.

The leadership potentials on this platform are so numerous that they are nearly endless.

A couple of guys such as @joanaltres @always1success @cryptoriddler @dollarvigilante @imagediet @jerrybanfield @carlobelgado @sweetsssj @alphacore and @kingscrown already have a circle of influence over and above ten thousand and still counting. Source

Some others such as @mindhunter and @papa-pepper are setting the pace dishing out quality and impact-full posts on daily basis that is now well over twenty seven thousand each. Source

Others like @blocktrades @infovore @curie @gbenga @donkeypong @ogoowinner @stellabelle @onequality @destinysaid @surpassinggoogle @good-karma and @pharesim just to mention a few, stepped up the all-important curation of quality posts, giving hope of survival to both old and new steemians alike.

These guys are already living out their leadership potentials without awaiting any political position.

Yes, we can take a cue from them.

I see a time in the near future when a single steemian is followed by hundreds of thousands of people, surpassing the population of many nations of the world.

I see a time soon when the nations many steemians have carve out of planet steemit will grow to hundreds of thousands in population (followers) and, of course they'll be maybe, prime ministers.... Lol

The potentials are just too enormous.

Let's therefore rise up now and take advantage of the huge opportunities Steemit offers.

You don't have to wait indefinitely for anyone to vacate any political position before you can lead a leadership role.

You don't have to become a political puppet in anyone's hand, using you to accomplish his evil machinations, all in the name of getting a political appointment.

You don't have to wait in a beggarly manner on anyone to deploy your leadership potentials.

Let's reposition ourselves for becoming global leaders even right from our homes. For this and many more are the opportunities the steemit platform offers.

This is to my fellow Nigerian youths.

I won't fail to acknowledge that many of us are already doing great leadership exploits on this platform.

In no particular order, @destinysaid @ogoowinner @gbenga @ehiboss @dreamchasser @ceepee @plojslydia @drepo15 @oluwoleolaide @ememovic @ejemai @heartbitcoin @dorth @rickie @kingxy @bitfairy @datageek @turpsy @elbleess @tojukata @stellabele @oluwataye @rexhafiz are just a few of the outstanding Nigerian folks on the platform.

Thank you so much for reading.
