Progress Update: Implementation Underway
The AFP would like to extend its sincere appreciation to every member of the community for the patience, cooperation, and support shown throughout this process. Large-scale recovery initiatives require significant coordination, verification, and operational planning, and the professionalism demonstrated by participants has played a vital role in helping us move forward efficiently.
Since the launch of the current phase, community engagement has remained strong, and we continue to be encouraged by the level of participation and responsiveness we have received. The willingness of participants to provide accurate information, complete required submissions, and cooperate with verification procedures has contributed greatly to making this recovery effort as smooth and effective as possible.
As outlined in our previous updates, the project has now transitioned from planning and preparation into active implementation. Over the past several days, The AFP have been focused on reviewing submissions, validating participant information, and initiating direct communication with eligible individuals.
We are pleased to announce that, at the time of writing this update, members of our team have successfully reached out to more than 100 participants who previously completed and submitted the required forms. These communications represent an important milestone in the rollout process and mark the beginning of direct engagement with participants as we continue advancing through the implementation phase.
More importantly, we are excited to share that the first successful refund distributions have already taken place. As of this update, more than 30 participants have completed all required stages of the process, satisfied applicable verification requirements, and successfully received their refunds. As at the time of writing this article, $93,690 has been disbursed to participants.
This achievement represents a significant milestone for the program. What began as a complex recovery initiative has now entered a stage where tangible results are being delivered to participants. While there remains substantial work ahead, the successful completion of these initial refunds demonstrates that the framework, systems, and procedures developed over recent months are functioning as intended.
At the same time, it is important to recognize that each participant's circumstances may differ. As a result, processing times may vary depending on individual verification requirements, documentation reviews, and other administrative considerations. Our teams remain committed to ensuring that every case is handled carefully, accurately, and in accordance with the standards established for the program.
For participants who have already submitted their forms but have not yet been contacted, we ask for your continued patience. Communications are being conducted in phases, and outreach efforts remain ongoing. The fact that an individual has not yet been contacted should not be interpreted as an issue with their submission. Our teams continue to work through submissions systematically to ensure a fair and orderly process for all participants.
Likewise, individuals who have not yet completed the submission process are reminded that the form remains open at this time. As previously communicated, an official announcement will be made through our communication channels before the submission period is concluded. Eligible participants who have not yet submitted their information are encouraged to do so as soon as possible.
Looking ahead, our focus remains firmly on expanding participant outreach, completing additional reviews, and accelerating refund distributions where possible. Each successful refund strengthens confidence in the process and brings us one step closer to achieving the objectives that have guided this initiative from the beginning.
While the work is not yet complete, the progress achieved so far provides strong evidence that the program is moving in the right direction. The AFP remains fully committed to transparency, accountability, and delivering results for the community we serve.
