Welcome to our review of the Round 17 Ins and Outs

in #afl-fantasy6 years ago (edited)

Hi Guys,

Teams are in for Round 17 and given we are into the point end of the year now, I hope the injury gods have been good to you.

Adelaide v Geelong

The Crows are slowly getting closer to full strength and have regained star Small Forward Eddie Betts this week.

Fellow Small Forward Murphy is also back this week for the Crows as is almost forgotten man Riley Knight.

Rory Atkins has also been recalled after being surprisingly dropped a couple of weeks back.

Out goes a very disappointing Curtly Hampton who must be running out of chances, Poholke and Fogarty have also been dropped.

Veteran on baller Douglas is out with injury and will be missed.

The Cats regain a gun Forward of their own this week in Daniel Menzel.

Youngsters Simpson and Wiley Buzza have also been recalled.

Out goes Fogarty, Taylor and Murdoch who are all injured.

St Kilda v Carlton

A massive 5 changes for the Saints this week, 3 of which are forced due to injury.

McCartin is the biggest out and will leave a hole up Forward.

Key Defender Austin and Wright are also injured while Longer & Joyce have been omitted.

In comes Star Defender and arguably their most important player these days in Carlisle.

Marshall will replace McCartin up Forward while Hickey gets the chance to win back the number 1 Ruck spot.

Lonie and Ed Phillips have also been recalled.

Late out as I submit this - Seb Ross is injured and Bailey Rice comes in.

The Blues have also made 5 changes this week after a horrid performance last week.

Defensive Quarter Back Kade Simpson is back to lead the Defence, mature age recruit Garlett is also back from injury and Gold Coast recruit Shaw will get one last chance to impress.

Also good to see exciting youngsters Paddy Dow and Harry Mckay back in the seniors.

Out goes Weitering, Phillips and Lang through injury.

Wright and Graham have been omitted.

Hawthorn v Brisbane

A couple of injuries at the Hawks this week most notably to Ruckman Mcevoy.

O'Rourke will also miss through injury which is a real shame for him after battling so long to break back into the seniors.

Whitecross and O'Brien come back into the side.

No change for the Lions after their big win last week.

Melbourne v Western Bulldogs

Just the 2 changes for the Dee's this week with youngsters Stretch and Joel Smith injured.

Bernie Vince has been recalled as has forgotten man Jay Kennedy-Harris.

The Dogs were horrendous in the 2nd half last week which was unexpected given the high level they had been playing at the last couple of weeks.

The Dogs cause has not been helped by the Bont suffering appendicitis.

Also loosing handy small Defender Crozier and Tom Boyd through injury.

They may have one star going out but they at least have one coming back in with Jack Macrae recovered from his hamstring injury.

Jordan Roughead will replace Boyd in the Ruck and Honeychurch gets another chance in the seniors.

GWS Giants v Richmond

Crunch game for the Giants so it is no surprise they have rushed Toby Greene back without first playing a NEAFL game.

Kennedy has been recalled to the Defence after good NEAFL form and the very handy on baller Jacob Hopper has recovered from injury and back in the side.

Perryman and De Boer are out injured while Finlayson has been omitted.

The Tigers have had a blessed run with injuries this year but will finally need to use some of that depth after injury to 3 players.

Graham, Butler and Broad are all out.

In come star Defenders Vlastuin, B Houli and the exciting young Forward Bolton.

Gold Coast Suns v Essendon

The Suns are travelling so well they have decided to make no change this week.

In fairness I am not sure there are too many running around in the NEAFL that are banging the door down for selection.

The Dons regain exciting Forward Orazio Fantasia and Parish starred in the VFL on his return from injury last week so he has also been recalled.

Defender Matt Dea is also back in the side and he will fill the injured Ambrose's role.

Youngster Long has been dropped while in form Forward Jake Stringer is out injured.

Collingwood v West Coast

The Pies regain speedy veteran Varcoe and Darcy Moore returns just in time to fill the key Defensive post after the unfortunate ACL to Dunn.

Moore will have a big job ahead of him this week given the Eagles ins.

Out goes Crocker and Appleby

The Eagles have 3 big ins with Kennedy, Darling, Waterman and Lecras all back to boost the Forward line.

That's a lot of goals brought back into the side.

Out goes Ah Chee, Vardy, Ainsworth and Allen.

North Melbourne v Sydney

Just the one change for North this week with an exchange of VFL players.

Morgan in and Zurhaar out

The Swans have been hit with a raft of injuries with Hannebery, Jack and Mcveigh all out.

Towers has been dropped in a further blow to what has already been a disappointing season by him.

Sydney do regain star youngster Heeney who has recovered from that concussion.

Papley, Newman and Irishman O'Riordan are also in.

Fremantle v Port Adelaide

In the last match of the Round the Dockers have made 4 changes.

In comes Sutcliffe, McCarthy, Nyhuis and Scott Jones.

Out goes Apeness, Kersten, Tucker and exciting high draft pick Brayshaw who is injured.

Port are flying at the moment but do have a big out with Jonas injured.

Trengrove and Johnson have been omitted.

In comes Hombsch, Amon and handy Small Forward Sam Gray.

I hope the team news has helped you this week and good luck in your league match ups.

Thanks for Reading :)
