Investing in crypto is great and can be highly profitable. However, there's an overlooked investment that most neglect: Yourself.

When I say investing in yourself, I'm not saying spending money on entertainment and wasting time in the name of relaxing. Instead, I mean you should spend time and money into educating yourself and gaining new skills. This article will explain to you why you should consider it seriously.

A Solid Foundation Can Withstand Storms

Here's a situation you have no doubt gone through in the past. You look at your crypto portfolio and everything is red. It sucks. You feel down and the bad feeling follows you through the rest of the day. That's bad. You've gone through a figurative storm and now you're down.

Now imagine an alternative. You are learning a skill such as programming. Today you've learned a cool new thing that you put in your always growing professional toolbox. You also receive an e-mail from a client that is interested in working with you. It feels good. Now, you look at your portfolio. It's red. It's red, yet you feel good despite of it.

If you invest in yourself, learn a skill, get good at it, you'll have greater inner strength in your everyday life.

Invest in Yourself and You'll Make More $$$

You've heard that you should never invest more than you are willing to lose. The problem is that when you have no skill, all the money you have is money you are not willing lose. Why? Because if you cannot bring value in Society and secure steady income for yourself, you could lose your job or your investments could sink, and you'd find yourself scrambling for money.

If your situation is precarious, you'll make stupid decisions. You'll be more inclined to throw a bunch of money in scammy ICOs or go in full FOMO mode which will make you buy high and sell low, something you know you shouldn't, ever, ever do.

More Options in Life

When you gain skills, you increase your value in Society. In turns, this make opportunities gravitate towards you. You could get that job that you really want. You could become a freelancer and be your own boss. You could become an entrepreneur and launch your own product.

There's so much you could do be doing that you simply can't do if you haven't gained any skills.

Ideas of Cool Skills to Learn

First of all, you could learn how to become a writer- and I mean by this both a fiction writer or a non-fiction writer. You could be producing content that slowly builds an audience on Steemit. You could make your own e-book and sell it.

Another useful skill is programming. I keep telling people that they should learn programming. While normal programming will always be in demand, I also tell people they should specialiase in blockchain programming. Yes, there's an element of risk in choosing which platform you will code on (Ethereum VS EOS, for instance), but the demand is absolutely huge right now.

Do Something, Do it Now!

I hope that by now I have convinced you to invest more in yourself. Some of that time you spend looking at crypto price? Spend it watching a tutorial! That money you've put in bitcoin? Take a small part of it and buy yourself an online course.

Because in the end, you are the greatest investment you could possibly make.
