- The first thing you are gonna need is a condensor mic for recording vocals. They are available at different ranges of prices. The higher you pay the high quality you get. Condensor mics are very sensitive. They need a high amount of power. This power is not given by the 3.5mm jack in your computer.So they need to be connected to the usb jack or should be powered with phantom power.
Usb sound card can be used to connect the mic to the usb jack of the computer. They give a minimal quality for the sound. The better way is to buy a audio interface with a 48v phantom power. They give a good boost to the quality and gain . They make the sound cleaner. Focusrite scarlett solo is a good audio interface for such a low price.
A computer -- It is needed to connect all the equipments and work on the sound. A computer with more advanced specifications is more preferred. With more specs the time spend will be reduced.
DAW(Digital Audio Workstation) -- It is a software in which the audio is modified. There are various DAW's. A DAW is capable of taking a song to a next level.
A very silent environment-- Since the condensor mics are very sensitive they capture every noise in the surroundings. It is very important to have a silent surrounding.
Wires-- They will be needed in plenty since everything is connected to everything via wires.
Then you should get a ear training software. The ears is a very essential part in music.
