Social Justice Bowl
Buy our product because….. social justice?
Super Bowl commercials are getting more and more unsufferable. The annual ritual of watching major brands roll out their cringeworthy Super Bowl ads is an American tradition. Last year, after the election of the politically incorrect Donald Trump, every brand had to remind the world that they were pro-immigration, pro-diversity, pro-Islam, pro-feminism and pro-social justice.
Just like last year’s cringy Pepsi Ad with Kendall Jenner, this pretentious virtue signaling results in the unlikely effect of uniting both the left and right in their mutual disgust for using fake activism and The McResistance to promote their products.
This years winners were:
1.) T-Mobile "Little Ones"
Set to a music-box rendition of Nirvana’s “All Apologies,” (are the advertisers subconsciously apologizing for this lame spot?) T-Mobile scolds and wags their fingers at the people in the audience that “may be threatened by their differences” because you know….America is all about racism. It also suggests that these cute little babies “will love who they want” adding a creepy mixture of sexuality to shots of infants. “Change Starts Now” is the call to action, and the action is to change your telecom provider to T-Mobile. Sorry, you didn’t sell me.
2.) Martin Luther King Jr. Says, “I Have A Dream— To Buy A Ram Truck?’
As long as idiots in advertising agencies think that it’s appropriate to use the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to sell Ram Trucks, you will get 6,000 down votes and 2,000 negative comments on your YouTube video.
Hey you said something very similar to me! We are both on the same page here. MLK would be so mad at Dodge right now!!
I just upvoted your post!! :-)
