I visited a Steem user in Alabama
The last few days I have been camping on a few acres with @makinstuff. @ryulincoln joined me as well. I have been on his Discord show which is "Meadows and Makers" a few times. The show is on the Minnow Support Project Discord. He likes to talk to people that build stuff that makes their life more sustainable without depending on utilities supplied by others. And discuss ways of better ones lives through gadget's and preperation of land. We also talked about coming to visit him on his land.
@makinstuff has set up a camper on his property. It can have up to three people sleep in it at a time. And on the last night we were out there it got down to 28F and I bunkered down in the camper for that cold night. I was quite glad to have it there.
I set up my bed using four sheets, a blanket and a sleeping bag. I really didnt need the sleeping bag for the first half of the night. But during the early morning it got pretty chilly in the camper and was glad to have the sleeping bag. I zipped it up and helped me get through that unusually cold night in Alabama. We also got a dusting of snow that night and left everything icy.
I brought a mini propane cooker. This thing was great. As it was quite wet and cold outside later in the trip and cooking in the camper was much more comfortable. And heated up the camper as well. I traded my remaining pork chops for some deer meat. He cooked some tenderloins on his BBQ and they were really tender and tasty. When the weather was nice, on the first day. We used @makinstuff's cooking tripod over a campfire, and cooked up some pork chops using Oak hardwood logs. It added a great flavor to the meat.
A neighbors dog would come and visit us, shes an outdoor dog and seemed quite content with roaming the woods. She wanted constant pets and was happy to pet her. A nice dog to have around.
@makinstuff made us some Cowboy Coffee. Which he made on his BBQ. That was the first time I've had it. And as long as you dont down the whole cup it's nice. I mixed mine with coconut oil and butter blended and enjoyed some coffee out in the woods.
I have some pictures from my other camera and some video as well from my SJCAM. It was raining most of the trip so I had to find cover or wait for rain to stop to use my electronics. But there were some gaps and I got some great photos and footage I'll share soon.
@ryulincoln and I are planning on coming back as guests on Meadows and Makers to talk about our trip. It was alot of fun.

@balticbadger yeah I bet it would have been alot colder without another person in the camper. Yeah it was, we got to hear coyotes off in the distance. Nice nature where he lives.

I dont know much of Alabama, do you guys dont get snow there?
@thekitchenfairy from the sounds of it, snow is pretty rare. Where I live in North Georgia we get snow once every three years or so.
