Some years ago I along with @keuudeip, @k-syusteem and Abel Pasai (Not steemit) exploring the wilds of the forest in Aceh-Sumatra Gayo Lues in the expedition to trace the past lives in the highlands of Gayo Lues.

The expedition is lead by @keuudeip already produced results, based on an interim analysis Gayo highlands region has been inhabited since thousands of years ago the majority of the people are gayo (A tribe living in the Gayo highlands).

Gayo tribe is the tribe who inhabited Gayo highlands and they have their own language, according to a source wikipedia. Gayo language is the language that is used as an everyday language by Gayo. This Gayo language is linked with language Batak Karo in North Sumatra. This language, including language groups called "Northwest Sumatra-Barrier Islands" of the Austronesian language family.

Influence from outside the languages outside language Gayo has influenced the dialect variations. Gayo language in Lokop, slightly different from the language that is in Gayo Gayo Kalul, Gayo LUT, Linge and Gayo Lues. This was due to the influence of the Acehnese language is more dominant in East Aceh. So is the case with Kalul Gayo, Aceh Tamiang, a little there are many Malay influence because it is closer to North Sumatra. Then, Gayo Lues more influenced by the language and the language Karo Alas for more interaction with these families, the more the community Gayo in Aceh Tenggara district.

Gayo tribe dialect, according M.J. Melalatoa, Gayo Lut dialect consists of subdialek Gayo Lut and series, while Hill and Cik are sub-subdialek. Similarly, the dialect Gayo Lues consists of subdialek Gayo Lues and Serbejadi. Subdialek Serbejadi itself includes sub-subdialek Serbejadi and Lukup (1981: 53). While Bayhaqi Ak., Et al refer to the number of dialects in accordance with the spread Gayo Gayo earlier (Gayo Lut, Series, Gayo Lues, Lokop / Serbejadi and Kalul). Nevertheless, the dialect of Gayo Lues, Gayo Lut, Gayo Lukup / Serbejadi and Gayo series can be said to equal or very close together. In itself there are two Gayo Lut dialect there called dialects Hill and Cik (1981: 1).

In the language Gayo, (calling someone) with a different call, to show manners, courtesy and respect. The use of ko and camps, both of which mean you (you). Calls ko used from parents and / or older to younger. Kam word itself is more polite than the ko. Language Gayo Lut considered more polite and refined than the other Gayo language.
