OBUDU CATTLE RANCH
According to Wikipedia, the Ranch was first developed by a Scot named M. MCCAUGHLEY, in 1951. He was the first to explore the mountain in 1949 and camped on the mountain top of OSHIE RIDGE on the SANKWALA MOUNTAINS for month a while before returning with DR. CRAWFEID and MR. HUGH JONES fellow ranchers in 1951. They developed the OBUDU CATTLE RANCH.
The Obudu Ranch is a popular holiday destination for adventurous tourists wishing to explore the remote corners of Nigeria. Situated in the northeast corner of Cross Rivers State, only 45 miles from the Cameroon border, a tourist can enjoy the countryside of both Nigeria and Cameroon at the same time. The Obudu Plateau is spread over an area of 40 sq. miles. It is 5,500 feet (1,600 metres) above sea level. The climate is cool, pleasant and semi-temperate without mosquitoes.
