Holy Damn, I’ve Blow My Whole February Budget

You ever have one of those weeks where the only thing that will cheer you up is to take a little adventure and spend a little money?

I just had one. I stopped working last Friday around 2pm and mapping all the pawn shops in Murfreesboro, TN, a city 45 minutes away from me. I’d picked all the pawn shops in my area clean and wanted to see what this college town had to offer. I was not disappointed.

Stop 1 - Toliver's Jewelry & Loan Co

This place had more silver than I could buy up so if you’re ever in the area, check them out. I will definitely be back next month. I was able to get $20 each out the door for all 4 ounces. I didn’t have anything particular in mind, mostly just things that stood out to me.

I’m not a fan of the rebel flag craze, but I’ve never seen one before so I grabbed it up.

The wolf reminded me of the Dogecoin dog and my daughter and I used to howl out in grocery stores to find each other too. I just had to have it.

The Camel round was something that you could buy from the catalog with your Camel cash back when smoking was cool and I remember Camel being one of the first advertisements I really liked when I was young. I smoked for a summer back in 1997 and Camel unfiltered was my jam.

The Conch Republic round reminded me of a friend that grew up in Key West and told be a story about how they tried to become their own state called the Conch Republic. I bought it thinking of her.

Stop 2 - Mid Tenn’s Pawn & Loan

This is about a tenth of what I got in foreign coins for $15 bucks. I pulled out these 6 junk silver coins and added them to the collection. I’ll ebay the others individually.

Stop 3 - Some dude from OfferUp

Looking online can be exhausting for a good deal on silver, but sometimes you get lucky. I found this salty dog looking to unload a few ounces and I made him an $18 per ounce offer and he took it. Other than not being able to pick out the coins and the box reeking of cigarette smoke, it was a great experience. He even threw in 5 silver-platted (copper core) Bitcoin commemorative coins for free. I’ll be giving these away in future post promotions.

My favorite ones are the German 1oz bar and the Egyptian 1/4oz round.

Check out these weird series of 12 gram .925 rounds from the Italian biopharmaceutical company, Dompe Farmaceutici. Dated 1986. Apparently, they are 5 in the series and this guy gave up after 30 years because he couldn’t complete the set.

The 10oz Bar from SilverGold Bull was bought at spot and came in the mail the same day so I included it ;)

If you’d like to follow me, I will definitely follow you back. I’m here to build community and support my fellow earthlings. I’ll mostly be writing about my travels with @brandyb, crypto day trading, silver stacking, logo design, Squarespace website design & cryptocurrency. I promise to be polite (as possible).

Bwaha! That banner cracking me up. Some nice shiny ya got thar mate!

Cheers! The hunt was half the fun

Looks like some great pickups man, some more rare and unique stuff, totally my jam.

They had this 4oz 100 bill plate but wanted $225 for it. I loved it but that's ridiculously high.

Good job to whole budget

I can confirm that you may be suffering from "stackitus" the only cure is to continue to pick up more of the shiny stuff. Unfortunately you have it for life but it is manageable through regular doses of silver and/or gold!!

Yeah Doc, I got it bad. My girl just laughs at me when I get a small box in the mail.

Nice I really been thinking about that 10oz from sgb

You should do it. It's a beautiful bar and anything at spot is worth it.

I was not disappointed

Wish I had coin selling pawnshops where I live. By the way I have no real budget but just transfer (cash) savings into gold/silver investments. I just have to bear in mind what kind of % I want to be invested in precious metals. Currently I am little above what I wanted to do. (=goldfever)

I've got silver fever bad.. that's why I allow a few hundred a month or I'd go broke.

Great post! Gomatthew indeed

Every day on Steemit is blow my budget day and throw support on the super content creators. I like you shiny things collection though, especially the Wolf coin. You know what would be priceless though - a bad mood kitten one - I'd buy that just to melt it down ;-)

Hell yeah, nice adds! I especially like the wolf round because I love animal designs and odd rounds are so fun to collect. Great haul and it's ok you blew your budget because you got some killer stuff and next month will come quick, only 28 days in February lol

Shortest month of the year!

Incredible haul you picked out some cracking pieces I really like the camel round! I just stopped smoking 3weeks ago but camels were one of my favourite ciggies! You might want to get that German bar tested tho as that specific design is often silver plated copper!!

Thanks! It passed the magnetic test .. the rectangle on the bottom right is my new neodymium magnet.

magnet test is only part of the test. were you sliding the magnet down the bar or just checking to see if it sticks?? check the dimensions of the bar against those listed on the website below. because German Silver is different from Fine Silver just dont want you getting ripped off bud :)
