Effing hot in Effingham Illinois
Today started out with a flat tire and ended in a crappy run down motel. Met some biker friends and almost got eaten by a dragon in Vandalia. Luckily though I made it to Effingham but not before seeing some interesting sites. Now I am off route 66 and on route 40 most likely all the way home.

Have you dropped much weight Doc ? I would need to ride out to Vancouver AND BACK to get back into shape .

Most likely on route 40. May try to get on bike route 1 and/or 5. Dont know when i will get there though.

I like my current truck.
My current truck is just like your old truck. Mine is a blue 03 silverado 1500 extended cab but isn't used much so only for hauling stuff to make it last a long time. I like your Z71 truck too.

This place is trashy, full of homeless drug addicts and crazy people, and the motel is falling apart. Thats just seen from route 40.
My FILs farm was between Vandalia and Brownstown and has been share cropped for decades. Glad to hear the area is full of drug addicts and crazy people, lol. The crazy part fits but I can't blame him for the motel tho, lol.
Just effingham was rotten. The rest seemed nice. Im in terra hute indiana currently.
At your pace, you should be spending tonight in Manhattan. You are doing great as I couldn't make one fifth the distance you do everyday.
