The Hill...
Recently, I've really been on quite a creative journey. I've spent countless hours planning and developing a road map of what is to come your way. I'm extremely excited about it all and can't wait to unveil it piece by piece!
Something that really keeps me going is the following!
“The wolf on The hill is never as hungry as the wolf climbing the hill”
— ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER
Let's think through that for a moment. This can come as two-fold: One being people that have stated they've achieved their goals are to be considered at the top of the hill, and the second being those that we place at the top of the hill.
Arnold stated this when he spoke of his training to become Mr. Olympia seven times.
So in this scenario, they are the wolf at the top of the hill, and we are the ones climbing. Each there for their respective reasons, but ultimately they are ones that we should be striving to chase.
Why do we put them on a hill and not a pedestal? Easy! You can't climb a pedestal.
We should never truly place anyone on a pedestal because that is us declaring that they are somewhere we could never hope to be. However, we can climb that hill to reach their level. If you aren't in shape to do so, then train to be in shape.
Now I'll be the first to admit that the climbing isn't always fun, but this is the part we have to be willing to do to reach the summit. Do you think that those higher on the hill sat around only dreaming about getting there? They are the ones who sat there on nights their friends are out or that one day that the sun was high in the sky and it was better to be outside than on the computer.
Now I'm not saying that you should give up every free night, or ignore the sun every day, but there has to be a willingness to roll up the sleeves and do the dirty work.
Are you interested in starting a production and media company? Then grab a camera, learn how to use it, and start shooting. Do you want to begin a blog or write a book? Then start reading things that interest you, keeping a notebook of ideas that come to mind, and start writing away.
When you find something that is calling to you then you won't mind climbing that hill to set yourself apart!
Thanks for tuning in, and that is your Daily Dose of Dapperness!
