This Is Where Yoga Mats Are Made
Hi everyone! When I travel in China sourcing products for my company I never really know what to expect. Today I went to visit a factory looking for EVA toys, the factory turned out to be much bigger than I thought and their main products wasn't toys but yoga mats :) Let me show you the process of how the yoga mat is made !
So first the material is processed and extracted as a very thin sheet. It is very compact and hard at this point.
It is then put into a expanding machine where hot air enters to expand the material, and the original material multiply several times in thickness when air combines with the material.
Here you can see how thick the material gets after it has expanded.
Here are some stacked sheets which are ready to be transported to the next station.
In the next station these sheet pieces are merged together so that it becomes a long sheet that can be rolled up.
Here you can see how big the rolls get.
Now it's time to make the sheet thinner.
A cutting machine is used for this and can be adjusted to make the exact thickness of the sheet.
Now the thinner sheet is rolled up.
When I checked the storage center on the same floor I saw they had the material stacked with the same colors as the Swedish flag, so I naturally asked for a photo.
In the next step these thin layers are combined and glued together.
The edges are then cut.
And now as you can see you have a finished yoga mat !
Here is a finished carton, perhaps it is heading your way ?
I love seeing the way thing are made, it's really cool to understand the process behind products you can buy in real life don't you think ? Here are also some other products which they made !
They make yoga bricks, I have no clue what they are used for ?
The texture of the way they stacked them was cool though.
Another huge selling product which they made is the sole you find in your shoe!
water boyaance products obviously is another big use for this material.
Do you need a boomerang ? They make it as well !
Perhaps you need a new tire to your RC Car, no problem .
Now to the product I actually was sourcing in the first place.
They also made chairs with this material for kinder garden use.
They were very proud of this chair because it cold hold up to 80 kilos !
They asked if I wanted to try, I decided not to, perhaps after my next diet session I will.
Alright, so now you know where some of the products you can see in real life are made. It is not strange it often says made in China on so many things, they truly are very hard working here and extremely efficient. That was all for this time, hope you enjoyed ! Wish you all a nice weekend !
Just wow!
Hehe I was also impressed by the production process :)
That's so wild! China is all about manufacturing for sure!
thanks ! Yea I mean you can find anything here, anything you need to buy they got it !
I've been meaning to ask, do you speak Mandarin?
当然!但是我中文一般般。。全国第三:)
I can't read. Wow! Very impressed! My speaking is very limited too but I understand. Where has @freeman01 been? Tell him hi!
I talked to him yesterday and he said he is super busy with work, he often works on Saturdays as well, and pretty much over time on a regular basis. I will say hi for sure !
Yea I do, it's very helpful when on business trip. I used to be class mates with Freeman, he taught me a lot !
Hey bro!! happy to see you moving around! ... do you do yoga? xD
I don't do it but I would really want to, if nothing else I would like to start meditating! I was promised a yoga mat from the factory so I might start now ! How about you my friend ? How do you relax in between your hard work sessions ?
I play video games and go to the gym ! but I'm trying to make more work out since I gain 5 kg!!
Video games, watching tv, they are all fall pits for gaining weight, because lets be honest, it's always nice to do this activities combined with eating snacks !
it should be a crime! but yes... eating and watching movies is the best thing in the world.
Those bricks are for people like me who are really bad at yoga! You use them to prop up the body parts you are unable to get into the right positions. So I might rest my hand, foot or knee on it because stretching those extra inches is impossible.
The bricks are very helpful and necessary if you are not too flexible or have balance issues or are weak. I qualify in all three ways!
So cool to see this post. I'm out of power to upvote now but I loved seeing this factory. You have an interesting life :)
Thank you kindly and your comment is what matters the most ! Oh I see, that's what they are for. I just asked them to give me a mat, turns out I also need a lot of those blocks then :) !
The mat is dangerous! People think it is easy, but it is not lol. I had two of those blocks when I was doing my easy form of yoga and I used them for sure. The blocks are also good for photo shoots to raise your products and create levels :)
I went to a yoga class once, but there where only women, let's just say that I stood out like there thumb, everyone else was already bending in all kinds of ways and I was like a stiff log.
I'm a woman - but I stand out just like you. Add falling over in a big splat to my ways to stand out in those classes. This is why I said I "was" doing yoga. Now I stretch in the privacy of my own home with myself and/or you tube. Much better on my ego!
Very good idea, I also think I will do my yoga at home for now in a dark room ! Haha
Trust me - I have no mirrors!
This is so valuable.
I'm speechless.
