Cruising on a 4.3 BHP Bike 😛
Hello Pistonheads. We all enjoy big bikes, loves boosting about the higher BHP’s and CC’s while I realize no one ever talked about the lowest BHP two wheelers.
This evening I had to go to Nehru Place (one of the most crowded area in South Delhi) to pick some office stuff and decided to ditch my regular commute and opted to use TVS XL. The initial movement is slow however once running the acceleration is smooth and calm. Since the ride was smooth I couldn't help but reach out to Google for numbers that support it's road presence.
With just 4.3 bhp this vehicle's load bearing capabilities are beyond questioning and it has a sales record which can make most indian bikes die of shame.
Some not so fancy numbers:
Displacement 99.7 cc
Maximum Power 4.3 bhp @ 6000 rpm
Maximum Torque 6.5 Nm @ 3500 rpm
Kerb/Wet Weight 80 kg
Mileage 70 kmpl
Max Speed 60 kmph
In 2016-17, moped sales rose 23% to 890,367 units from a year earlier, as compared to a mere 4% growth in the broader two-wheeler market. The model contributed to over 17 percent of the company's sales revenue in FY’17.
couldn't find a reference image so posting one from archives
While the fit and finish is just average it's like an old Nokia phone and does the basic things perfectly.
This has to be the lowest BHP vehicle I've ridden and I doubt there can be anything lower than this. Please comment below about your experience with the lowest powered vehicle.
