Here we see how Jane tries to imitate Thandie's behavior and thank goodness it didn't work out for her because then she would also have been an unhappy woman. If you realize, this is a generalized behavior among friends: there is always one who leads and one who follows, who seeks to imitate. What I didn't like is that Jane wouldn't have told Thandie about her husband, because maybe that could have saved her from the misfortune; although with that comment she could have ended the friendship between them.
