RE: Adsactly Art - Camille Claudel and Auguste Rodin: from love to madness

in #adsactly6 years ago (edited)

One of the most stormy stories among artists. You record it and comment it very well, @nancybriti. I knew about Rodin and his work (who hasn't seen his famous sculpture "The Thinker" at an early age?), but not about the existence of Camille Claudel, until at the beginning of the 90's I could see the French film "Camille". It is a cinematographic realization that gathers with much respect the complications of such a dramatic relationship and the fatal destiny of Camille (played by the brilliant actress Isabelle Adjani). Indeed, she suffered the consequences of being in the shadow of the famous Rodin, and her work was little known. Thank you for your magnificent post, and @adsactly for spreading it.

Yeah. I remember seeing the movie, @josemalavem. Gérard Depardieu's performance as Rodin is also masterful. It must be hard for a woman to go down in history as the sister of the poet, playwright and diplomat Paul Claudel and muse and lover of Auguste Rodin, and not because of the great sculptor she was. Hence perhaps the result of his life. Thank you for your always pertinent comments. Greetings
